Test Prep

Practice the skill, not a leaked test.

Study Commons uses original practice to build transferable reading, math and reasoning skills. It does not reproduce secure or proprietary test questions.

What useful preparation looks like

Good preparation reduces avoidable mistakes: misunderstanding instructions, rushing a pattern, losing track of units, or choosing an answer before checking the rule.

It also strengthens the underlying skill. If a student can explain why an analogy works, identify the pattern in a new number series, or summarize an unfamiliar passage, that ability transfers beyond one test.

Current focusVerbal, quantitative and non-verbal reasoning practice will be developed alongside reading and math foundations.

Three habits worth practising

  1. State the rule before selecting an answer.
  2. Check every choice against the same rule.
  3. When stuck, eliminate choices using evidence rather than guessing from appearance.

Mini practice

Bird is to nest as bee is to ___.

Do not just answer. State the relationship first: an animal and the structure where its colony or young may live.
